Persons interested in joining 4-H should fill out an enrollment
form. Enrollment fees are $30.00 for members 8 years
and older (this includes enrollment fees, CSU manuals and record books
for 3 projects) and $30.00 for Cloverbuds. There is a sliding scale
for families ($55 for 2 children, $75 for 3, $85 for 4) as well as scholarships
available.
The 4-H program year begins on October 1 and concludes on September
30 the following year.
Any person, regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, religion,
disability or national origin, may enroll as a 4-H member. Colorado
4-H membership is open to youths between the ages of 5 to 18 by December
31 of the current year. Youth ages 5-7 years of age are considered Cloverbuds.
Membership cannot be held simultaneously in more than one county or
state. Members can participate in only one county fair per enrollment
year.
All 4-H members must be enrolled in at least one project. A member
may add or delete project enrollments, check the project
selection guide and local project guide
for deadlines. The 4-H projects linked above are considered statewide
projects or activites. They are offered in most of the counties in Colorado.
Some counties offer additional projects of local interest. Counties
provide the materials and training guides for these projects and they
may vary from area to area depending on local resources and needs.
Youth competing in state, district and/or county events and activities
must be 8 to 18 years of age by December 31 of the current year. See
specific contest or event information for additional details.
